Wolves in Utah-
(see most recent stories on our main page)

Wolves have been decimating deer and elk herds in Montana, as well as cattle, and have attacked humans in Arizona. "Wildlife" extremists have successfully placed wolf expansion above maintaining viable big game animal populations, and even human safety. THIS CAN HAPPEN HERE!
Anti-gun fanatics are also anti-hunting, and will "cry wolf" to destroy all forms of hunting. The Salt Lake Tribune has shown itself to be extremely biased in favor of wolves (as well as anti-gun), so you will seldom hear both sides of the story there.

Hunters need to belong to USSC, not just collectors, target shooters, and self defense people.

The Wolf as Story, both old and new (1/1/03)
Biased reporter likens the real threat from wolves to "fairy tales".

Salt Lake Tribune pro-wolf editorial (12/31/02)
At least they support some protection/compensation for ranchers, but nothing for the sportsmen who have paid millions to support the deer and elk herds in the state. That means hunters, you know, the folks with GUNS, but that alone may be enough for the Tribune to shun them.

"Although federal officials say the trapper acted within the law, he fears public exposure and retribution from animal-rights activists." Aided and abetted by the Tribune's wolf fan club?

Wolves Run Wild in Human Imagination (12/29/02)
"... the wolf's sharp intelligence and independent streak maintain a strong pull on humans. Wolf lore is its own industry. There are silk scarves, coffee mugs and original art for wolf-lovers. There are wolf-watching vacations." More adoration of a deadly predator.

Tribune "Wolf Project Team" lauded by management (12/29/02)
"'The will to annihilate a species is gone,' says Knowles [Tribune sportswriter- i.e. football, not hunting], 'because we no longer are an agrarian culture' adding that the only question is how to deal with this carnivore." He better hope SOMEONE is still working in an agrarian society, it would be miserable trying to eat left over newspaper

"Beloved Wolf" [perverse praise 12/22/02]
"reunion celebration" "real celebrity" and other gushing adoration for a predator species that took decades to extirpate. Maybe some would welcome return of smallpox and malaria too? Unfortunately, their brainwashing efforts will reach millions, to the detirment of Utah's hunters, ranchers and farmers.
